Paris is for Foodies

I thought I knew what good food was before Paris--

How wrong I was!

I had envisioned it all: sitting in a café on a shady street, espresso in hand, watching the people rush past. What I didn't realize was this movie-worthy moment was tangible, and was offered to me every single day!

We had chocolate and raspberry tarts from a local bakery, risotto and scallops at a restaurant down the street, macarons our guide gifted us as an afternoon treat, and all with the great company of our fellow travelers.

For dessert, we were treated to sumptuous creme brulée, cream puffs, and sorbet.

Nothing I've ever tasted or will taste can compare to the flavors of Paris. Every night we tried something new, often dishes we had only read about in books or travel magazines. In fact, I watched my culinary expectations be shattered night after night. Salmon, duck confit, mussels, and of course all the freshest bread we could eat were served to us, and yes, I even tried the escargot, which was delicious!

We dined at comfortable, local restaurants our guide chose for our group dinners, and I was not disappointed once.

Don't speak French? Not a problem, neither do we!

All you need is an openness to learn and experience new things, and before long we could try any restaurant our hearts desired without any anxiety.

Our guide helped us learn common French phrases, names of important locations, and how to politely interact with the locals.

On the group dining nights our amazing guide gave us suggested options for dinner each night, and when we arrived our food was brought to us without any stress.

A highlight was definitely the breakfast our hotel offered every day at no extra charge to tour members, which we looked forward to each morning! We were served croissants, baguettes with jam, coffee, tea, French yogurt, and a cheese plate all in the comfort of the hotel. It was great to have such a bright and delicious start to each day to fuel our adventures!
